What is PicoSure Laser?

PicoSure is the first product used to remove tattoos. Recent clinical studies show impressive changes in acne scars, structural changes, discoloration of the skin, and aging in general. What's impressive is that the rejuvenation techniques make minimal downtime look pink in just a few hours.

PicoSure is an aesthetic laser that was first developed to remove unwanted tattoos. However, newer techniques rejuvenate the skin by improving skin texture and discoloration. What makes this Q Switched laser machine so unique is that it is the first and only picosecond laser on the market to deliver ultrashort energy bursts in trillionths of a second. For many tattoo types, PicoSure has been found to be less painful, requiring fewer treatments (only 4 to 6 compared to up to 10 to 15 with nanosecond lasers), a faster recovery time, and far more effective removal of certain tattoo colors (green, blue, and purple).

How does the PicoSure picosecond laser treatment feel?

PicoSure treatments are fast but may cause minor discomfort. Some treatments do not require anesthetic, but some may require anesthetic in the doctor's office. The discomfort of a PicoSure treatment is often compared to a rubber band that tears the skin, but is tolerable with appropriate pain therapy.

Immediately after treatment, the surface may feel like a light sunburn, but it will be painless unless it is rubbed.

What is the expected result with a picosecond laser?

PicoSure reduces or completely eliminates the appearance of unwanted tattoos and pigmented skin lesions. Other treatment strategies reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and uneven skin tones, providing a more youthful, more even complexion.

For Pico Sure, the results are usually visible immediately after treatment. However, as it is a series of diseases, the extent of improvement and healing time vary depending on the surface being treated.

Are there immediate side effects after PicoSure laser treatment?

When using Q Switched ND YAG Laser for rejuvenation, acne scars and discoloration, it is common for the skin to appear pink for a few hours after treatment. It is important to apply sunscreen to the affected area a few days after the treatment.

If you use PicoSure to remove tattoos, your tattoo usually turns a little whitish and then swells or turns red. However, this only takes a few hours to a day after the treatment. In some cases, mild blisters appear at the treatment site for a few days. After the Pico Sure treatment, it is important to keep your tattoo or treatment area covered with ointment and bandages for the first day, and then expose to the sun or sunbeds one week after treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation (darkening).
