The Buffalo Bills narrowly put away the Tennessee

Titans Youth Bruce Smith Jerseys , 13-12, on the back of an outstanding performance from their their defense. The Bills kept the Titans behind schedule and controlled the line of scrimmage with a run-obsessed gameplan, finishing with a game-winning field goal by Stephen Hauschka as the game expired. The Buffalo defense suffocated the Titans for most of the day. They had three turnovers, kept Tennessee out of the end zone, and limited the Titans to 221 yards of total offense. Marcus Mariota was 14-of-26 for 129 yards (5.0 yards per attempt) and an interception. The Titans runners combined for 100 yards on 25 carries. Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes each had a sack. Hughes would’ve had two, but he shoved Mariota to try and avoid a roughing the passer penalty, which backfired when Mariota didn’t lose his balance. The Bills treated Josh Allen with kid gloves in this game, running at more than a 2:1 ratio compared to his passes. It was a good idea too, considering Tennessee’s stout defense. The Bills really struggled to break big plays, with their longest result of the day a 16 yard run from LeSean McCoy. Allen scored a rushing touchdowns and generally made smart decisions most of the day, but rarely attempted to attack the Titans defense. He threw for fewer than five yards per attempt Bruce Smith Jerseys Stitched , and though it wasn’t his fault, Allen had an interception bounce off Andre Holmes into the hands of a defender. The big plays weren’t available, but that was enough for today’s win.The other side of Buffalo’s treatment was their stronger commitment to LeSean McCoy and the running game. McCoy had more rushing attempts in this game than he had in the rest of the season to this point. the Titans defense mostly contained him, but he still produced more than 100 all-purpose yards. The Bills finished with an unsexy 43 carries for 144 yards and a Josh Allen touchdown. At 2-3, the Bills climbed out of the AFC’s basement, and preserved Sean McDermott’s winning record for at least two more weeks (the head coach is now 11-10 with the Buffalo Bills).NotesNew waiver addition Jordan Phillips had a good day, in on two tackles for loss.Rookie Taron Johnson netted his first career interception.Rookie Tremaine Edmunds had his second career forced fumble. Shaq Lawson and Jerry Hughes also forced fumbles on the day, and the Bills recovered two of those three.Corey Bojorquez appeared to injure his upper arm, but it didn’t impact his punting. He downed his next kick within the five yard line.Ray-Ray McCloud all but iced the game on his second career catch with a bubble screen for a first down at the end of the fourth quarter. This was the first game-winning drive of Josh Allen’s career.Bojorquez was the only notable injury to come out of this game in real time. EDTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Draft: What time will the Buffalo Bills be on the clock Friday? After a successful first day of the 2019 NFL Draft, where the Buffalo Bills added an instant playmaker to their defense in defensive tackle Ed Oliver with the No. 9 overall selection 2019 Ed Oliver Jersey , Buffalo is back at it Friday in Nashville, Tennessee. The Bills have nine additional picks remaining, with two of those coming during Friday’s second and third rounds: one in the second round (No. 40 overall), and one in the third round pick No. 74). Buffalo also has two selections in the fourth round, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh, should general manager Brandon Beane feel like packaging some of those lower-round draft picks to trade back up in the draft. When are the Bills expected to make their picks Friday night? Here’s our best guess.Round 2 starts at 7 p.m. Eastern, with Round 3 to follow. Picks can take up to seven minutes in the second round, and five minutes in the third round. If the teams ahead of Buffalo use up the maximum amount of time (seven teams picking times seven minutes apiece), it will be 49 minutes from the start of the second round of the draft at 7 p.m. Eastern until the Bills pick in Round 2, putting Beane on the clock at approximately 7:49 p.m. EST.But on further analysis Vosean Joseph NFL Draft , Buffalo will be picking before that. Here’s what recent history has to say about when Buffalo will be on the clock for the second round:In 2018, the Denver Broncos went on the clock around 7:35 p.m. EST to select SMU wide receiver Cortland Sutton. In 2017, the Carolina Panthers went on the clock around 7:45 p.m. EST to select Ohio State wide receiver Curtis Samuel. In 2016, the New York Giants went on the clock around 7:45 p.m. EST to draft Oklahoma wide receiver Sterling Shepard. In 2015, the Tennessee Titans went on the clock around 7:35 p.m. EST to draft Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.That means the Bills will probably be on the clock for their second-round pick sometime around 7:35/7:45 p.m. Eastern Friday and have their pick in soon after that. As for the third-round selection, assuming there isn’t a big break between rounds, if the teams ahead of Buffalo all use up their allotted five minutes (nine teams picking times five minutes apiece), it will be 45 minutes into the third round (if not sooner) when the Bills go on the clock for pick No. 74. That’s if they don’t trade up—something that’s a possibility given general manager Brandon Beane has shown a penchant for wheeling and dealing in the past. Stay tuned!
