ZAGREB Solde Femme Nike Air Presto BR Rose , Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- UEFA Champions League Trophy came to Zagreb, the Croatian capital city, on Friday as hundreds of people gathered at the city's main square to have a look at the coveted piece of silverware that Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb can only dream about winning one day.

It is on its tour through central European countries. The tour started on Sept 26 in Slovakian capital Bratislava, the next stop was Austrian capital Vienna and after Zagreb 73.5cm high and 7.5kg heavy trophy will end the tour in Serbian capital Belgrade.

The trophy will reside in Zagreb until Sunday, Oct. 12 when there will be thousands of people running around the special tent erected at Jelacic Square as Zagreb Marathon will have its start and finish at the same place on that day.

Legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel and former Croatian international Goran Vlaovic, member of the squad that have won a bronze medal at the 1998 World Cup Solde Nike Air Presto SE Woven Bleu , served as ambassadors of this part of the Trophy Tour.

Schmeichel had a chance to lift the trophy when he was a captain of Manchester United that won UEFA Champions League in 1999 in one of the greatest turnarounds in the history of football. At Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona Bayern Munich players were already picturing themselves with the trophy when within two minutes in an injury time Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Teddy Sheringham scored goals and steal the trophy from the German side.

""I was very fortunate to win this trophy in 1999 and it was a hard win. We didn't play well that night and I remember our manager Alex Ferguson wasn't a very happy man at the half time. He said to us: 'When you go back out there look at that trophy. The way you play now you'll never get close to it. You can only look at it because you can't win it.' It switched our minds to another gear and we managed to win and lift the trophy. In club football that's the most important trophy that you can have,"" Peter Schmeichel said about the night he will remember for the rest of his life.

Goran Vlaovic was close to lifting the trophy just a year after that night but Real Madrid was a stronger team in the final and beat FC Valencia, the club that Vlaovic was playing for at that time.

""I was close but unfortunately didn't get my hands on it. I had a lot of memories from playing in UEFA Champions League but one of them sticks out. It was from time when I was playing for Panathinaikos. We were playing against FC Barcelona in the quarterfinal. It was a closing minutes of the game at Nou Camp and FC Barcelona had a positive result when I got the ball. I fired a shot as Nou Camp went into a silence. Unfortunately I missed and FC Barcelona made it to the semifinals but that was my greatest memory,"" Vlaovic recalled.

Even though he didn't score and bring one of the European powerhouses to its knees Vlaovic became a lifetime supporter of FC Barcelona.
