Old School Runescape developer Jagex has decided to RS Gold shut the MMORPG title's Bounty Hunter worlds"until further notice" because of questions about gold farmers abusing them. After an early announcement letting players know that the worlds will shut down, the developers have gone into further detail in their strategies to revamp PvP. "It is time to create a change," Jagex says in the announcement. Now it deserves better, so we're taking a step back and considering its location in the general game. Our goal is to ascertain a long-term vision for PvP. Rather than move from one release to the next, we need a clear direction for the next few years that will inform how we style articles moving forward."

Strategies to revamp PvP will begin taking place in February, and those ideas will be introduced to the neighborhood. "We also hope to re-release Bounty Hunter in a couple of months, provided we can establish a way to consistently track and act against boosting." Meanwhile, the minigame's unique items"will be made available elsewhere." The studio initially informed players of this player-killing minigame's closed in an update article on the game's site, saying it is"sorry to announce that we have chosen the decision to close the Bounty Hunter worlds until further notice". The reason for this, Jagex describes, is that the manner's"design unfortunately leaves it prey to gold farmers, who abuse its mechanisms to create GP in excess of the amounts available via legitimate procedures."

While it sounds the extent of this gold farming hasn't yet gotten to a place where it is impacting Old School Runescape's in-game market, the studio explains it"undermines other game content and the general integrity of the game."
