As anticipation among football fans builds up for next month’s Super
Bowl LIV, sneaker enthusiasts have also joined in on the excitement
because brands like Jordan and Nike have commemorative releases
scheduled around the event. Nike Air Barrage Sale
While the Jumpman imprint is dropping a tropical Air Jordan 10 and a
yet-to-be-seen Jordan Max 200 on January 31st, its Swoosh counterpart is
honoring the 54th Super Bowl with an Air Barrage Mid inspired by the
host-city’s Miami Hurricanes.
Popularized in the ’90s by the likes of Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and Pittsburgh Steeler Ernie Mills, the Buy Nike Air Barrage
silhouette is fitting for football’s biggest game with its
cross-training capabilities and ostentatious design. Of the latter, all
branding (and there’s a lot of it) gets treated to the same punchy
orange that animates half of the ‘Cane’s “U” logo. The various layers of
leather and mesh across the upper, as well as the rubber outsole, get
treated to a rich green not only borrowed from the University, but also
reminiscent of the greater South Florida landscape.
One of 2019’s more surprise re-issues looks to spill over some residual excitement into the new year as a first look at the Shop Nike Air Barrage
emerges. This 1996 model, remembered for its audacious branding on the
midsole and tucked-in Swoosh, existed as a Low-cut model sans-strap.
Maintaining the layered leather-over-mesh that was the predominant
method of construction of that era, this turf trainer was a popular
lifestyle choice – most notably in its white, black, and teal green
colorway.

Perhaps because the Olympics were supposed to go down this Summer or
even due to the fact that the 4th of July celebrations are only but less
than two months away, Nike Sportswear has been sprinkling USA thematics
amongst their various footwear models. After remixing the Air Max 90,
Air Max 270 and Air Max 97 with patriotic personality, the Swoosh is now
tossing the Air Barrage Low into the mix this season.
The sneaker that Bo Jackson popularized trades out the Rucker Park motif
seen on its last appearance, and instead welcomes white synthetic base
constructions with abstractly-shaped navy overlays almost channeling a
sort of inverted “Olympic” Air More Uptempo look. Nike Air Barrage Shoes
The Swooshes are interestingly done up with a gradient aesthetic which
isn’t a feature traditionally seen on this Nike model, and accents of
red are subtly placed atop the branded hits located down the throat,
heels, and outsole.
