Updating Kodi on FireStick with Downloader
There are a couple of different methods that Kodi users can use to
update Kodi on their FireStick device. Both of these methods use common
FireStick apps to download and install the necessary update files. The
first method is to use the Downloader app on your FireStick.
Method 1 – use the Downloader on your FireStick
Go to the Main Menu on your FireStick
Select Settings, then Device
Press Developer Options
Turn ADB debugging On, alongside Apps from Unknown Sources
Go to Preferences and click Advertising ID
Turn off Internet-based Ads
Return to the home page and press the Search button
Type in Downloader
From the search result list, select Downloader
Click Download to install Kodi on your Firestick
After downloading select Open to launch the downloader
Press OK and type in the following URL source: bit.ly/kodi174 The downloader will start downloading Kodi
When Kodi has downloaded, wait a few seconds and you’ll see it installed on the screen
Click Open and enjoy your media experience!
On your FireStick, access the Main menu, and navigate to
the Settings section. From there, you can access the Developer
options tab under the Device area of the menu. Once in the Developer
options section, you can turn on ADB debugging, as well as Apps from
Unknown Sources, which will allow you to download and install third
party apps that wouldn’t normally be accessible.
After that, navigate back to the Preference menu, and click Advertising
ID. In this menu, turn off the Interest-based Ads setting. After that,
go back to the home page and click the Search button.
Search for “Downloader.” Navigate to Downloader in the result list, and
click on it to download and install it on your FireStick. Once it is
installed, you can open the app, and click OK.
Once in the Downloader app, users can use the app to access a download
link that will download the update file onto their FireStick. Users can
use the Following URL: tinyurl.com/kodi18rc2,
or search for another URL from a trustworthy source. Please note that
visiting third party download sources can be unsafe, and it is
recommended to use a VPN when accessing these services.VPN download
Once the download has started, you have to wait for the data to download
onto your FireStick. Once Kodi is finished downloading, you can install
Kodi by running the downloaded file. As always, make sure to only
execute files from trusted sources.
Updating Kodi on FireStick with ES File Explorer
Another popular app that allows users to easily update Kodi on FireStick
is ES File Explorer. Much like with Kodi, users will want to enable the
Allow apps from unknown sources setting within the Developer Options
menu. If you forget how to do this, simply review the process detailed
above.
Method 2 – update from the ES File Explorer
Go to the Main Menu on your FireStick and press Search
Type ES File Explorer and open it
Click Tools
Press Download Manager
Click +New at the bottom of the page
Enter the following path: bit.ly/Kodi-17_6-Krypton-APK Press OK
Enter a name for your path, for example, Kodi 17.6
Click Download Now
Select Open File and the latest version of Kodi will be installed on your FireStick
Launch Kodi and enjoy!
Once the setting is enabled, navigate to the Search box in the main menu
of your Amazon FireStick. Type “ES Explorer,” or “ES File Explorer”
into the search box. When the results page appears, navigate to the ES
File Explorer app in the list in order to begin downloading the file.
Just like with downloading and installing the Downloader app, you must
wait for the app to download and install before opening it. Once the app
is downloaded and installed, you can open ES File Explorer, and access
the Download Manager from the Tools menu in the left-hand menu.
Clicking the +New option in the bottom menu will allow you to type in a
download path, for which you can use the URL provided earlier, or
another download source from a trusted website. For the Name field,
simply put “Kodi.” Running the download will initiate the download for
the Kodi update files.
Once downloaded, you can select Open File in ES File Explorer to install
the Kodi update on your FireStick. Overall, this process is fairly
similar to using the Downloader app and shouldn’t give users too much
trouble comparatively. Both of these apps are commonly used and trusted,
so there should be minimal problems as long as users are practicing
safe browsing and download habits.
