LOUISVILLE, Ky. Russ Grimm Jersey . -- The eye-popping statistics No. 10 Louisville put up in its first two games of the season doesnt mean there arent areas the Cardinals can and need to improve on.And theyll need to play better as the competition will step up this week.Gaining big yardage and putting up a lot of points will be much harder for the Cardinals (2-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) in Saturdays nationally televised showdown against No. 2 Florida State (2-0, 0-0). Louisville knows that and is working to correct the flaws masked by those gaudy numbers against Charlotte and Syracuse.Despite gaining a school-record 845 yards and scoring at least 60 points for the second straight game, Louisville left last Fridays 62-28 throttling of Syracuse with room for improvement. The Cardinals dropped passes, lost two of six fumbles and allowed some big plays along with 426 yards.Coach Bobby Petrino blamed some of the drops on a lack of concentration and others on the receivers ongoing process of developing timing with dual-threat sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson. The coach also lamented some defensive lapses but noted how the unit made key plays when needed to against the Orange. The Cardinals may not have to be perfect against the Seminoles, but Petrino said theres little room for errors. We do have to limit our turnovers, we have to take care of the football and we have to not hurt ourselves, Petrino said Monday. I think thats the biggest thing, to not hurt ourselves.Fortunately for Louisville, mistakes have been minimal while winning its first two games by a 132-42 margin. High scoring has always been one of Petrinos priorities, so lighting up the scoreboard hasnt been a shock. We want to wear you out as much as we can and were having fun doing it, said wide receiver Jamari Staples, who leads Louisville with 219 yards but is still looking for his first touchdown. Its not arrogance, its just something we like doing. The Cardinals want to keep rolling in one of the programs biggest games that could help establish an early favorite in the ACCs Atlantic Division. Both the Cardinals and Florida State still have to face No. 5 Clemson -- the preseason favorite to repeat as conference champions -- with Louisville visiting the Tigers on Oct. 1.Offensively, the Cardinals believe theyre just getting started.Thats saying something considering Louisvilles offense averages a nation-leading 754 yards per game and ranks third in yards per play at 9.9. Jackson has already rushed and passed for 1,025 yards and 13 touchdowns -- including his much-celebrated hurdle over a Syracuse defender en route to a TD.Dangerous as Jackson has been with his arm, quick feet and athleticism, Petrino has been pleased with the QBs decision-making and inclusion of multiple targets.Lamar is smart with the ball, said Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, adding that Jackson is faster than Mississippi quarterback Chad Kelly. When there are times he has to make a play he is going to carry it. Chasing him down is more like a running back. Last year he was more in the pocket. As Louisville looks to Jackson to gain an edge against the Seminoles, the trick will be holding it after losing halftime leads versus Florida State the past two years. The Seminoles recently showed their knack for comebacks as they rallied from a 28-6 hole to beat Ole Miss 45-34 on Labor Day.If they can get on top of Florida State, the Cardinals dont plan to let them up again. We always start off good in the first half and then kind of slip up in the second half and dont do what we normally do, senior linebacker Keith Kelsey said. Were not going to let that happen this year.----AP Writer Joe Reedy in Tallahassee, Florida, contributed to this report.----Online: AP College Football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org----Follow Gary B. Wholesale Redskins Jerseys . Philadelphia is 2-0 against the Senators this season and scored five goals in each victory. The Flyers recorded a 5-0 win in Ottawa on Nov. 12 and then earned a 5-2 home decision on Nov. 19. The Flyers have claimed three straight and four of the last five encounters with the Sens overall and Philly has won two in a row and three of its past four tests in Canadas capital city. http://www.cheapredskinsjerseysauthentic.com/ . -- San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks was fined $15,570 by the NFL on Wednesday for his hit on Saints quarterback Drew Brees last Sunday. SAN DIEGO -- Much of the buzz around the Brewers going into Tuesday nights game centered on the major league debut of touted shortstop Orlando Arcia. In the end, it was an old hand who powered Milwaukee to a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres.Ryan Braun hit a tiebreaking homer in his return to the lineup after missing five games with a sore right side.It was big, for sure, Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.So was Zach Davies performance. Davies (9-4) won for the ninth time in 10 decisions by limiteding the Padres to two runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings. The right-hander, who struck out four and walked two, won his third straight start. Its easy to be confident when you see how the game unfolds, Davies said. There was good defense behind me and the bullpen was still good, even though some guys were missing.Tyler Thornburg worked the ninth for his third save, one day after the Brewers traded closer Jeremy Jeffress and reliable reliever Will Smith.Every pitch was a high-stress pitch, Counsell said. The bullpen did a nice job.Luis Perdomos downfall was a two-run sixth, highlighted by Brauns 15th homer. Perdomo (5-5) was charged with three runs and 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings while throwing a career-high 113 pitches. He walked four (two intentional) and struck out six.Perdomo was pretty tough, Counsell said. His sinker was pretty good, but Braun got a slider.Davies was tougher. He has really established himself, Counsell said. In the first two innings he had to battle out of some jams, but then he got on a really good roll.Jonathan Villar and Hernan Perez had three hits apiece as Milwaukee won for the fifth time in six games.Arcia, the teams top prospect, went 0 for 4 with a strikeout after getting called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs.Braun hit Perdomos first pitch of the sixth over the left-field fence to give the Brewers a 2-1 advantage. The pitch he probably wants back is that firrst-pitch breaking ball to Braun, Padres manager Andy Green said. Dexter Manley Jersey. . (The slider) probably wasnt our best pitch selection.Milwaukee made it 3-1 when Perez followed with an infield single and came around on Chris Carters double down the left-field line. The Padres sliced the deficit to 3-2 in the sixth on Jabari Blashs run-scoring single that glanced off Villars glove at third base. Carlos Torres relieved Davies and got Derek Norris to fly out with two on.Norris RBI single tied the score at 1 in the fourth. Norris drove in Blash, who walked and stole second. The Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the fourth thanks to some help from the Padres.Perez opened with a fly to right and Blash took a curious route in tracking it. He got twisted around and the ball hit the warning track, bouncing into the seats for a ground-rule double.Perez stole third and scampered home on Perdomos wild pitch. The Padres had two baserunners in each of the first two innings but failed to score.I focused a little bit more after that and mechanically smoothed some things out, Davies said.TRAINERS ROOMPadres: INF/OF Alexi Amarista was placed on the 15-day DL after straining his left hamstring while running the bases Monday night.UP NEXTBrewers: RHP Junior Guerra (7-2, 2.70 ERA) is 4-1 with a 1.47 ERA over his last seven starts, producing quality starts in six of them. In his only career start against the Padres, he threw six scoreless innings in a win on May 13.Padres: RHP Edwin Jackson (1-2, 5.46) makes his third start at Petco Park and the Padres hope its more like his first one than his last one. Jackson was tagged with the loss on Friday against the Reds, giving up six runs in five innings. On July 17 at Petco, he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a win over the Giants.
