Our pupils that entered the festival spent many hours practicing solos Julian Edelman Rush Jersey , duets, trios & groups. We entered and choreographed 57 practices. The festival had a total of 114 entrants, not bad for our 1st try. (Watch this space for 2012).
Big thank you to everyone that made this festival possible! Particular thanks to Miss Hannah for choreographing the lower schools routines, Dawn for our banner contributions Tom Brady Rush Jersey , Helen for all our printing, Julia managing the project and Tracy for smooth running of the office and sorting costumes, Terri for our programme, Gary and Denise for all our striking medals & trophies Rob Gronkowski Rush Jersey , and Clare Jennings for adjudicating the festival.
After eight months of free time committed to managing this festival its been a long procedure but an exciting one and I must say its all been worth it, just to see the children perform all their beautiful routines on stage after all their efforts!!
We’ll be forwarding a survey all of the schools that took part in this years festival. To all of the other dance schools available, come on join us next year for a bigger festival in 2012!

Adjudicator’s Report
The newly established Bucks Dance Festival happened on Sunday 24th July 2011 at Chalfonts Community College which become an excellent venue. Set in a semi rural area with good parking facilities, a sizeable stage and very helpful and well organised stewards this looked a promising start. Expecting some hitches to happen on this one day festival Malcom Brown Jersey , I am delighted to report there were none! Timing of classes was spot on, audience and dancers behaviour was great and the overall atmosphere was enjoyment and pleasure.
The standard was varied, mostly great and some really outstanding work from several dancers. Within the beginner 9yrs & under Gwenllian Minton (Leanne Hughes) danced a really stylish Contemporary solo scoring unusually for beginner an 85. Isabella Parsell (Jacqui Ison) performed beautifully gaining 1st place in Ballet, Song & Dance Joe Thuney Jersey , National and Tap, for which she won highest mark of the festival with 88. Not to become outdone, her sister Inez won her Contemporary, National Deatrich Wise Jr. Jersey ,Song & Dance and Tap. Other notable performances were from Hannah Panksztelo & Marie Beveridge (Pink Academy) in a convincing presentation of their duet – “A mother cares for her sick child”, Ballet solo from Alexandra Willcocks (Sue Coles), Hannah Walker & Eve Bennett (Sue Coles) Tap duet, Bethany Cave (Jacqui Ison) Contemporary solo Devin McCourty Jersey , Georgia Kemp & Alice Obergan (Pink Academy) Modern duet, Lily Hewitt & Gabriella Gee (Leanne Hughes), Lyrical duet. Especially promising and consistent work was presented by Marie Beveridge(Pink Academy) who won Lyrical, Modern Stephen Gostkowski Jersey , Character, Contemporary trio with Jordan West & Alice Oberidge and Modern Duet with Chloe Moss. Marie also won the prizewinners class, held at the end of the day with her Character solo. Runners up were Inez Parsell and Bethany Cave. The Hayers Cup went to Eldeca Marczin-Bundy (Pink Academy) for most promising dancer.
It was a very pleasing day and I really|truly should congratulate Rachel Kemp and Julia Ali for its successful first year. Attention to detail was admirable and I want them all the best for next year and hope that it continues to expand in entries. A pleasure to adjudicate.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The ambitious Japanese women's basketball team failed to make history at the Olympics as they lost 110-64 to the powerhouse United States in a quarter-final match here on Tuesday.

The Asian champions, aiming for a medal finishing at Rio, battled in every corner of the court in the first half before they stumbled in front of American bench.

Japan trailed only 30-23 in the first quarter and closed in by just two points in the second on 46-44 before the U.S. pulled away by 56-46 at the break.

The bench of the U.S. contributed 62 points, compared to 14 from the counterpart, when they extended the lead to over 40 points in the second half.

""Today they created lots of problems for us. They played really well. It's the hardest 40 points in the game we've ever won by. It was hard. It was really a hard game,"" U.S. guard Diana Taurasi said.

Mika Kurihara made four three-pointers in the first half to help Japan close by, but she didn't score in the second.

""We played our Japan's game in the first half. But in the second, they didn't give me chances. At that time we need someone to step up,"" Kurihara said.

Seven Americans scored in double digits as Maya Moore and Taurasi led the team with 19 points each. Ramu Tokashiki led Japan with 14 points.
