Three former Patriots find new NFL homes During the process of trimming down their roster to 53 Shaq Mason Jersey , the New England Patriots let some important contributors from the 2017 season go. Among them were running back Mike Gillislee, defensive edge Eric Lee and linebacker Marquis Flowers. All three played more than 15% of the Patriots’ offensive and defensive snaps, respectively, last year – and all three did not spend much time on the open market.According to multiple reports, all three have them have found new homes:New England originally added Gillislee last offseason after signing the restricted free agent to a front-loaded two-year, $6.4 million offer sheet that the Buffalo Bills did not match during the five-day window. The Patriots sent a fifth-round draft pick to their AFC East rivals and received Gillislee in return. However, he was unable to establish himself as part of the rotation and became the odd man out this summer. After a solid 2017 season that saw him see increased playing time as the number two linebacker alongside Kyle Van Noy, Flowers failed to create any momentum during this year’s training camp and the preseason. As a result, he saw Nicholas Grigsby overtake him on the defensive depth chart and was released. The same goes for Eric Lee: last year’s in-season addition showed some flashes but was buried on the depth chart this year with Adrian Clayborn being signed as a free agent, and Derek Rivers and Keionta Davis returning from stints on injury-related reserve lists. There simply was not enough room on the roster for Lee to make it. Now he will join Flowers with the Detroit Lions, a team coached by former Patriots coordinator Matt Patricia. The trio joins former second-round pick Cyrus Jones, who was added to the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad Authentic Kyle Van Noy Jersey , as players that left New England after getting cut.Week 2 Patriots vs Jaguars: Leonard Fournette reportedly unlikely to play today The New England Patriots traveled to Florida with some questions about their offensive personnel: starting right tackle Marcus Cannon did not make the trip, while running backs Rex Burkhead and Sony Michel are both listed as questionable to play. New England’s running back woes, however, do not appear to be as severe as the Jacksonville Jaguars: last year’s AFC runner-up is preparing to play without Leonard Fournette today.According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville is “not optimistic” that Fournette – officially listed as questionable as well – will be available today. ESPN’s Adam Schefter, meanwhile, noted that the 23-year old is “unlikely” to play although a final decision has yet to be made. Fournette missed all week of practice due to a hamstring injury he suffered during last week’s game against the New York Giants. The star running back left the game late in the first quarter after getting hurt on a screen pass. At that point, Fournette had registered 12 touches for 55 yards. He was replaced as the Jaguars’ primary runner by T.J. Yeldon, who projects to be the team’s top option again today in case Fournette will indeed be unable to go. Jacksonville also has Corey Grant and recent practice squad call-up Brandon Wilds at the running back position.Losing Fournette would undoubtably be a blow to the Jaguars: 2017’s fourth overall draft pick is the team’s best offensive player and finished last season with a team-high 1,342 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns. The LSU product then added 77 touches for 286 yards and four scores during Jacksonville’s playoff run – one that ended in New England, in a game that saw Fournette register 26 touches for 89 yards and one touchdown.
