The league also promoted Shawn Hochuli Eddie Vanderdoes Jersey , Alex Kemp, Clay Martin and Shawn Smith to referee. Each was a referee at college football's top division before entering the NFL at different positions. Hochuli and Kemp are the sons of former NFL referees Ed Hochuli and Stan Kemp.
Officials Mike Spanier and Mike Weatherford will not be assigned to crews. They'll work with different crews throughout the season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars look as if they will keep veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis around at least another year.Jacksonville exercised club options Tuesday on Lewis and backup offensive linemen Tyler Shatley and Josh Wells.
The 33-year-old Lewis is the longest-tenured player on the team's roster. He is due to make $3.5 million in 2018.
