The rally attended by a handful of people mostly his supporters was addressed by AAP's candidate Raja Muzaffar Bhat for Srinagar constituency in upcoming India's general elections.
"I will not mislead people by talking about big issues like withdrawal of special powers entrusted to Indian army but my focus will be to root out corruption, strive for providing employment avenues and throwing out National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) from Indian-controlled Kaashmir Nike Air VaporMax Mens ," Bhat told media in Srinagar city in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
The AAP announced Bhat name on Thursday in its second list of candidates. The social activist turned politician would be contesting against ruling National Conference (NC) patron and India's Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah.
AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal named Abdullah as one of the " corrupt" politicians and his party would field candidate against him.
Indian-controlled Kashmir is an energy deficient state. The government of India undertaking - National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) is managing four power projects in the region with combined power generation capacity of 1660 MWs. The region is getting only 12 percent power free as royalty from the operational projects managed by NHPC.
This was AAP's first public appearance in Srinagar.
Bhat targeted Abdullahs' for corruption in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
"I haven't gone to Arvind Kejriwal to grant me ticket instead he requested me that we will work together for a corruption-free Kashmir," Bhat said brandishing broom, his party symbol. "We have numerous scams here ranging from drugs to cricket, to embezzlement in government offices but government is only befooling people.Bhat was previously associated with region's main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but in he resigned from the party after parliament attack convict Muhammad Afzal Guru was hanged in Delhi' s Tihar jail. Bhat then said he lost his faith in Indian democracy and accused New Delhi of not giving Guru a chance to defend him.In Jan. this year a senior AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said a referendum should be carried out in Indian-controlled Kashmir on presence of Indian army.
