I manage a private medical clinic and we’ve moved patient intake forms and consent documents online. Patients often just click to accept. If someone challenges the validity of their consent later, will those forms actually stand up legally?

Yes - online consent forms can be legally binding, as long as they’re structured properly. Courts look at whether the terms were clear, accessible, and required deliberate action to accept. Clickwrap formats (where patients must check a box or click “I Agree”) are strong evidence of consent. Learn more here: https://coupsmart.com/ . For healthcare, it’s especially important to keep records of when and how patients signed, since documentation proves compliance with both legal and regulatory requirements.
