ANAHEIM, Calif. White Wild Jerseys . -- Jered Weaver and John Lackey hooked up in a pitching duel that pitted former teammates against one another. There was no animosity, with Weaver crediting Lackey for helping him develop and Lackey playing the part of proud big brother. Weaver got the best of Lackey on Sunday night, combining with three relievers on a five-hitter as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Boston Red Sox 3-0 for their 10th win in 12 games. "He got me the first time we matched up and it was nice to be able to even it up," Weaver said. "He did a lot of great things for the Angels and for me. He kind of took me under his wing and taught me a lot of things." Weaver (3-4) allowed five hits, struck out six and walked two in 6 2-3 innings. "Thats my boy," Lackey said. "Hes become a great pitcher in the league and hes fun to watch. He was pretty good when he got here. I mean, he started off like 9-0 or something (as a rookie). We discussed more things off the field, preparation-wise, than pitching stuff. He had that down pretty good from the start." Lackey (6-6) entered the game on a roll, with a 3-0 record and a 2.17 ERA over his previous four starts. He struck out nine in seven innings and was charged with two runs and five hits. "I dont know if Ive ever seen John Lackey have better stuff," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "Those two guys went pitch-for-pitch. Its the best stuff Jereds had all season." Ernesto Frieri pitched the ninth to earn his 22nd save in 24 chances. Weaver gave up back-to-back hits to Jacoby Ellsbury and Daniel Nava to open the game, and then got out of the jam by retiring Dustin Pedroia on a liner to third base, and striking out David Ortiz and former Angel Mike Napoli. "Stuff like thats going to happen," Weaver said. "You just got to limit the damage." It was Weavers first outing since becoming a father on Friday, when he named his first child Aden David Weaver in honour of his late teammate and friend Nick Adenhart. "In the back of my mind I was anxious to get back over to the hospital," he said. "Itll be fun to pick him up and cuddle with him." Weaver and his wife, Kristin, will take the baby home on Monday, an off day for the Angels before they open an interleague series in Chicago against the Cubs on Tuesday. Weaver joked that young Aden would get the game ball, saying, "He deserves this one. Hes been gripping pretty hard with his left hand." As he always does, Weaver scrawled the initials NA into the mound before his first pitch of each inning. "It means a lot to us to be able to keep Nicks memory alive," he said. "Were always thinking about him." Mike Trout, who will start for the AL in next weeks All-Star game in New York, put the Angels ahead 1-0 in the first with his 15th homer. Hank Conger made it 2-0 with two outs in the fifth, with his drive landing in the same right field area as Trouts shot. "The second one, Id like to have that pitch back for sure," Lackey said. "But the first one was a great player doing great things. It was about 96 and away. A pretty good hitter made a pretty good swing." Albert Pujols singled with two outs in the sixth and the Red Sox shifted their infield for Josh Hamilton, leaving third base open, which allowed Pujols to take third as Hamilton walked. But Howie Kendrick grounded out to end the threat. The Red Sox had runners on first and second in the seventh, with Weaver yielding singles to Napoli and Brock Holt before turning it over to Dane De La Rosa, who got Jose Iglesias to fly out to right to end the inning. The Angels added a run on Mark Trumbos sacrifice fly in the eighth. NOTES: Lackey and Weaver faced off previously on July 27, 2010, in Anaheim, with Lackey earning the win. ... Red Sox OF Shane Victorino wasnt in the lineup a day after leaving the game with a left hamstring injury, the same thing that landed him on the DL last month. ... Red Sox LHP Andrew Miller returned to Boston on Sunday with a walking boot on his left foot. He was to be examined further on Monday. Cheap Wild Jerseys . Halladay signed a one-day contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday that allowed the veteran right-hander to retire as a member of team with which he broke into the majors and spent the bulk of his distinguished 16-year career. Green Wild Jerseys . The 25-year-old Japanese star has officially been posted by his club team, the Rakuten Golden Eagles. http://www.authenticwildshopnhl.com/ . He just needed to be his best twisting, turning acrobatic self. "I didnt need to be anybody else, I just needed to be myself and be aggressive," said Burks, who scored a career-high 34 points to spark the Utah Jazz to a 118-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- When he trotted back onto the field with just over 2 minutes to play and No, 5 Louisville suddenly trailing Virginia 25-24 on Saturday, Lamar Jackson was well aware of what was at stake.Everything, he said. Our whole season. We just knew what we had to do.Jackson, as has been the case all season, did the most, engineering a 75-yard drive and capping it by floating a perfectly placed 29-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Smith with 13 seconds remaining as the Cardinals survived, 32-25.It was Jacksons fourth touchdown pass and kept the Cardinals (7-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) in the College Football Playoff picture, and couldnt have hurt the Heisman Trophy frontrunners candidacy.Virginia (2-6, 1-3) had scored with 1:57 remaining and used a 2-point conversion to take a 25-24 lead, whipping the sparse crowd at Scott Stadium into a frenzy that could only have made the task more daunting. Not for Jackson. He ran for 18 yards on the first play, hit Cole Hikutini in traffic for 5 yards on fourth-and-3, ran twice more for 16 yards before hitting Smith in the end zone with the pass over tight coverage by Juan Thornhill.I just stayed calm, Jackson said. Me being the leader of the offense, just kept a level head.So did Smith, who had just one prior reception.Once we got the ball back, I felt like we had too much time not to score a touchdown, he said.Jackson did not have one of his best days, getting sacked five times and turning the ball over twice, but still finished 24 of 41 for 361 yards. He ran 18 times for another 90 yards, and boosted his TD count to 38.His other TD tosses covered 15 yards to Jamari Staples, and 8 and 10 yards to Reggie Bonnafon. The Cavaliers had driven 75 yards in 14 plays, getting a 30-yard pass from Kurt Benkert to Keeon Johnson oon fourth-and-7 to put the ball at the Cardinals 4. Youth Wild Jerseys. . A TD throw to Doni Dowling on the next play and then Benkerts 2-point conversion pass to Albert Reid had put the Cavaliers ahead by a point with 1:57 left.I wanted to win and I didnt want to go to overtime, first-year Cavaliers coach Bronco Mendenhall said of the decision to go for 2, adding that he wanted his team to know he had faith in them to come though. They did, but then Jackson added one more highlight to what has been a magical season. We threw our best punch, Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser said. Got to keep throwing our best punches.THE TAKEAWAYLouisville: No style points for the Cardinals, but having Jackson makes up for a lot of problems. Penalties and dropped passes were a nuisance in the first half.Virginia: Coaches never acknowledge appreciating moral victories, but in a season of change under Mendenhall, his players had to love the confidence shown in them by going for 2 in the final minutes.POLL IMPLICATIONSThe Cardinals would probably be pleased to stay where they are after needing all 60 minutes to beat a 33 1/2-point underdog, but theyd also love to see No. 12 Florida State beat No. 3 Clemson, reopening the Atlantic Division race. The Tigers hold the tiebreaker head-to-head because they beat Louisville 42-36 on Oct. 1.UP NEXT:Louisville: The Cardinals travel North for its final conference road game of the season against Boston College.Virginia: The Cavaliers go on the road for the first time in more than a month to face surprising Wake Forest.---The APs college football page: http://collegefootball.ap.org---Follow Hank on Twitter: www.twitter.com/hankkurzjrCheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
