QuickBooks Multi User Mode Not Working



There are several answers to resolve QuickBooks H202 error. For optimum results, perform the solutions in the following order. Multi user is Not Working in QuickBooksto fix this error, you can call us and get connected with our QuickBooks Support Department.


Solution 1: Test network connectivity


Turn hosting off on all workstations

Ping the server name from your workstation

Enter ping[servername], and press Enter key If you detect packet loss or slow reply, this means the network has to be repaired. If that's the case, proceed to Solution no. 2.


Solution 2: Utilize The Network Diagnostic Tool


Download and install the tool.

Scan the folder in which the data file is put.

Make a note of the amount of IP addresses and Network Interfaces.

In the event the Firewall Status section has an Open Ports button, click on the button to allow those ports for QuickBooks.

Test for data file connectivity

Try opening your company data file. If the error H202 still persists, try adding the QuickBooks port to your range of exceptions within the Windows Firewall.


Solution 3: Add your server to Windows Host file


Open the windows hosts file using the pc wherein the error is appearing. ? (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc) using Notepad. ? Open Notepad as Admin, if needed.

Place the insertion point after the last IP address and type the server’s IP address.

Press the TAB key once, and type the server name.

From the File menu, choose Save. Then, press Exit.

Try opening the company file.



Solution 4: Create a new folder for your company file


On the quickbooks hosting computer create a new folder.

Share the folder and set up folder and Windows access permissions to generally share company files

Copy the QuickBooks Database (QBW) file to the new folder

Open your company file in multi-user mode again Solution 5: Set hosting to local files

Launch QuickBooks and press F2 to start this product Information screen

When you look at the lower left, below Local Server Information, select Hosting to reflect ‘local files only’

Make sure no other client system is attempting to host the exact same company file
