What is Cetilistat ?
Cetilistat is a White powder, it's CAS Number is 282526-98-1, it's MF is C25H39NO3.
Cetilistat powder is different from other anti-obesity drugs because instead of acting on the brain to decrease appetite.
Cetilistat works on the gastrointestinal tract to block fat absorption.
Cetilistat is used to treat obesity and associated diseases like
diabetes.
Functions and Traits of Cetilistat
Cetilistat is generally taken with food, or even up to 1 hour after
having food. If you skip a meal or if your food does not contain any
fat, you can skip taking Cetilistat for that meal. The exact dosage and
period of treatment will depend on your specific diagnosis and overall
health and will be prescribed by your doctor.
The most common side effects of Cetilistat are oily stool, increase
bowel movements, diarrhoea, excessive gas, flatulence with oily
discharge, and cramps in the abdomen. It may interfere with the
absorption of fat soluble vitamins like vitamin A, D, E and K and thus
may require additional supplements to be taken to make up for the
deficiency.
Application of Cetilistat
Cetilistat is used to treat obesity and associated diseases like
diabetes. It is administered along with a healthy low fat nutritious
diet, abundant exercise.
Cetilistat is a lipase inhibitor and works by binding to and blocking
the action of the enzyme lipase. This prevents the fat (triglycerides)
in food from being metabolised and turned into free fatty acids that can
be absorbed by the body. Instead, the un-metabolised fat is eliminated
from the body through bowel movements.
