. -- Auburn coach Gus Malzahn confirmed on Wednesdays SEC
teleconference that sophomore running back Kerryon Johnson, the teams
starter to begin the season, will return Saturday for the game at Ole
Miss.Johnson, who injured his ankle on the opening series against
Mississippi State earlier this month, missed the rest of that game as
well as Auburns most recent game against Arkansas. Prior to the injury,
he was the teams leading rusher with 538 yards and six touchdowns. He
practiced yesterday, Malzahn said. Hes really close [to 100
percent].Johnson dressed for the Arkansas game and took part in pregame
warm-ups, but Auburn didnt need him. Led by backup running back Kamryn
Pettway, the Tigers rushed for 543 yards, the most ever by one team in a
regular-season SEC game. The good thing is we didnt have to play
[Johnson] last week, Malzahn said Tuesday. I thought that was very
important moving forward, not just this game but the rest of the
year.During Johnsons two-game absence, Pettway carried the ball 66 times
for 361 yards and five touchdowns. Despite not playing the first game,
he currently ranks among the SEC leaders in rushing yards and leads the
league in yards per game (116).?Fellow running backs Stanton Truitt and
Kam Martin have also helped fill the void. Both players scored their
first career touchdowns against the Razorbacks on Saturday. On Saturday,
Auburn will take its SEC-leading rushing attack into Oxford to face an
Ole Miss defense that ranks last in the conference against the run.

Hi Kerry, Its another day and here we are looking at another dubious hit
to the head. In this case Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky elbowed
Saku Koivu in the head about a second after he dished off the puck to a
teammate, knocking him unconscious.

LEVERKUSEN, Germany -- Bayer Leverkusen missed a host of
chances and squandered a two-goal lead to open its Champions League
campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday. If were
short two points at the end of the group phase, then well know where we
lost them, Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt said of the Group E game. The
Russian champion, which had lost on all previous five visits to Germany,
stunned the home side with two goals in three minutes to cancel out
Leverkusens early lead.It was decisive that we could quickly adjust to
Leverkusens tremendous pace, CSKA coach Leonid Slutski said. Were happy
to start with a point.Admir Mehmedi put the home side ahead in the ninth
minute, beating the offside trap to control Benjamin Henrichs pass with
his first touch and dispatching the ball past CSKA `keeper Igor
Akinfeev with his next.Hakan Calhanoglu made it 2-0 with an unstoppable
chip inside the far post in the 15th minute.Leverkusen looked to be
cruising and might even have gone further ahead beffore Moscow shocked
home fans with two quick goals.

.Alan Dzagoev was sent through to score by Aleksei Ionov in the 36th,
before Lacina Traore laid the ball off for Roman Eremenko to shoot
through Leverkusen `keeper Bernd Lenos legs for the second. Its very
disappointing the way it happened, Leverkusen midfielder Julian Brandt
said. We wont be going to bed with smiles on our faces tonight.Schmidt
reacted by bringing on in-form Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo for
Javier Chicharito Hernandez and Charles Aranguiz for Calhanoglu at the
break.Brandt missed a great chance just after the break, and the home
side also had a penalty appeal waved away when Pohjanpalo appeared to
have been brought down by defender Vasili Berezutski. The home side
pushed hard for a winner but looked increasingly vulnerable to conceding
on a counterattack. Both sides went close in a frenetic finale.
