Now that Anthem is available to everyone, there's an obvious question: what comes next? Not surprisingly, BioWare is ready to shed light on the future of its shared-world shooter. The studio has published a 90-day roadmap that shows plans for both more raw gameplay as well as deeper changes to the mechanics. The new Echoes of Reality phase starts out modestly, but you'll see more substantial additions before April is over.
A lot of modern titles are updated post-launch with downloadable content, bug fixes, and other changes. Anthem is supposed to differ in the scope of those updates. BioWare Head of Live Service Chad Robertson said there is "a long future behind the game’s lush world, immersive lore, rich characters, and core gameplay."
May will then bring something called the Cataclysm to Anthem, which entails a new Freeplay event, new missions, and new items. Nothing else was revealed about the event, though BioWare will likely talk more about it as the weeks progress. A significant percentage of the items in the 90-day road map are marked “Cortex Locked,” which basically means that they are hidden to prevent spoilers on the game’s lore. There are also placeholders for the unnamed Act 2 and Act 3. Buy Anthem Shard Packs from Mmocs.com with the cheapest price and fast delivery.
Act 1 culminates with the first Cataclysm event kicking off in May. EA previously described these time-limited events as “world changing”, and introduces extreme weather, formidable new foes, and a fresh batch of mysteries to solve. Two more Acts will follow Echoes of Reality, though BioWare is keeping a tight lip about what those entail for now.
Many are arguing that it is RNG, but even RNG isn’t this severe or widespread. What seems to be upsetting Anthem players the most is that this nerf was dropped in stealthily, instead of being properly addressed, making players feel like they’ve been left out to dry by BioWare. Of course, it is possible that BioWare is simply unaware of the issue, and it was a bug introduced by the latest patch.
The final big event will be the promised Cataclysm in May, which there are still no details about at this time. In addition to all of these missions and events, new items and cosmetics will be released each month for players to find, craft, or purchase. Finally, the mastery progression system, which was removed in the game’s alpha due to negative feedback, will make a return totally revamped.
