Johnny Manziel will get in a game for the first time in Canada this week Cody Latimer Jersey , but he’ll be coming off the bench as a backup as the Canadian Football League preseason kicks off.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats coach June Jones says last year’s starter, Jeremiah Masoli, 鈥渁bsolutely鈥?remains the starter both for the preseason opener on Friday and for the regular season opener on June 16.

Jones said he likes what he sees from Manziel, but Manziel is not ready to run the full offense yet.
“His footwork has gotten a lot better. When things break down he’s doing what we ask. All those things Tony Gonzalez Jersey ,” Jones said. “It’ll be a while I’m sure before he’s comfortable with all the routes we’re running, but I bet if we had the first [string] guys in there with him he’d come along a lot faster.”
Manziel seems to understand that.
“I’m going to have to earn my stripes up here,” Manziel said. “I’m going to have to work extremely hard to do what I want Cory James Jersey , and that’s come and play at a high level.”
Manziel’s long-term goal is to get back in the NFL. But first he’s going to have to show he can start in the CFL. He hasn’t done that yet.
The Seattle Seahawks are retaining one of their key defensive backs by signing safety Bradley McDougald to a three-year contract.Bringing back McDougald was important for the Seahawks after he showed his value last season with his ability to fill in at both strong safety and free safety. McDougald was able to fill in for Earl Thomas when he was injured and took over for Kam Chancellor after he was lost for the season to a neck injury.
McDougald was set to become a free agent after playing last season on a one-year deal. NFL reported McDougald's new deal is worth up to nearly $14 million. McDougald finished the 2017 season with 67 tackles and four passes defensed.
Seattle also released defensive back DeShawn Shead, making him an unrestricted free agent. Seattle wants to bring Shead back.
He spent most of last season on the physically unable to perform list due to a knee injury and Seattle could have brought him back under the terms of that contract. But now that Shead is healthy, the Seahawks afforded him the chance to see his value on the open market.
