Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney believes game graphics will probably be indistinguishable from reality inside next decade. Based around the current rate of Fortnite Items progress, Sweeney claimed today at Develop, as reported by Games Industry International, that games is going to be "absolutely photorealistic within the next a decade."
"An indistinguishable-from-reality amount of graphics," he added.
Along with this particular visual advancement, Sweeney cautioned, may come new challenges and difficulties which will require a trade in research before full virtual the reality is accomplished.
"That just moves task of graphics on the problems and we don't know how to solve. Like simulating human intelligence, animation, speech, lip-syncing," Sweeney said. "There remain a lot areas that may require ongoing research for possibly the rest of our lives before we come near to approaching reality."
Sweeney's comments echo that surrounding Fortnite Skins Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) visual effects supervisor Kim Libreri, who said in August not too long ago that game graphics will probably be "indistinguishable from reality" over the course with the next decade.
