Rocket Leagues new crates

Rocket League’s new crates and keys were discovered by a user on Reddit who spotted images of the unannounced unlockable items in recent updates to  Rocket League Items the game. Players quickly speculated that Psyonix was introducing a new way for players to acquire collectible add-ons of varying rarity.

Psyonix vice president Jeremy Dunham later confirmed that unlockable loot crates are coming to Rocket League, but not in the way many players feared.Crates will contain cosmetic content only," Dunham said. "We have a strict ‘Don't Sell Advantage’ policy for Rocket League, and we're sticking with that."

Dunham also said that Psyonix won’t integrate Rocket League’s crates with Valve’s Steam Marketplace, where skins, weapons and other items can be bought, sold and traded. "We are definitely aware of the problems related to third-party gambling in other games and we are not interested in taking that approach," Dunham explained.
