While we only have one or two days to go before we know which of Madden nfl 22 coins our athletes will be featured on this year's cover We decided to take our time and go through a handful of candidates which could be considered to be worthy of this distinction. Below are our top three options for a cover player as well as our top three choices should EA Sports chooses to cover two players, like the teaser suggests.

The last three Madden NFL cover athletes have been quarterbacks. So it would be natural that our top option is also a player who plays under center. After a 2021 season in which he was a top MVP quarterback, Bills quarterback Josh Allen is an excellent choice for the next chapter of the videogame franchise. After appearing in the AFC Championship, Allen set records for his career in passing yards as well as passing touchdowns. Allen was Buffalo just two steps away from reaching a Super Bowl appearance. At this stage in his career, Allen is already a legend. The Bills Mafia would love to see Allen's face and logo on the cover of the Super Bowl.

If you don't want to take on the role of quarterback cover and you don't want to cover the quarterback, I don't see how you could overlook Derrick Henry. There was even a leak in March which suggested Henry might be the cover's favorite athlete. While it remains unknown whether he'll be featured on this year's cover, Henry is certainly deserving of it. At times, the massive running back looks like he's something out of a video game as it is a constant threat to defenders frequently on a daily basis. Henry has been the top player in the league in rushing for two consecutive seasons. He also surpassed any skill position player in 2020 by having the best years at scrimmage (2,141). Madden NFL covers are not an option if you've 126.7 yards per game.

Although you might laugh at the thought of a defensive player making it on the Madden NFL Cover, it's not unusual. Richard Sherman was the last defensive player who was the cover athlete for the franchise in Madden NFL 15 and prior to that we witnessed the likes of Troy Polamalu (shared with Larry Fitzgerald, Madden NFL 10) and Ray Lewis (Madden NFL 2005) are featured too. Donald is by far the most impressive player on the cover side, having been a member of the 99 Club for four consecutive seasons of buy Mut 22 coins the 99 Club. There are a few other places on the field that could be reached higher than the one located on the cover.
