If you are on the Xbox One I remember that it does require Xbox Live Gold afterward but I do not know if that was changed recently or not.

My xbox live gold died in meseta pso2 august and I haven't renewed it. It didn't change my pso2 encounter in any way. I am still able to do every assignment and socialize with my friends. So if OP is renewing their gold just for pso, that money would be better spent elsewhere. I am not sure if microsoft dropped the ball if its something sega did. But I do know that pso2 is the only online multiplayer game ive been able to play with since my live gold died.

In order to play Phantasy Star Online 2 on Xbox One as well as Windows 10, you will need an Xbox Live account to perform with. For internet play an Xbox One, Xbox LiveGold is needed. If you apply the exact same Xbox Live account used to play Phantasy Star Online on Xbox One you will be able to play cross-platform Windows 10 PC and vice-versa.

We are going to be buy PSO2 Meseta getting a gold key daily from the brand new event, which means you should catch up quickly by banking people and running Busters in the meantime. Not sure what level you left off though, so YMMV.

I'd recommend you take a while to look into the weapons we have available now with the new upgrade. Depending on your target, you might wanna opt for something apart from Atlas EX.
