Support for the match lasted and saw the release of
Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta its next installment before Asiasoft finally decided to pull the plug.
The Phantasy Star series was split into four installations, all which were traditional matches. The first title in the series -- only known as Phantasy Star -- premiered on the SEGA Master System, although its sequels Phantasy Star 2, Phantasy Star 3: Generations of doom, and Phantasy Star 4: The end of the millennium were released on the more powerful SEGA Mega Drive. There were also 2 spin-off titles called Phantasy Star Adventure and Phantasy Star Gaiden that launched on the SEGA Game Gear console.
SEGA lasted the franchise with a focus on multiplayer in the form of Phantasy Star Online, an online-capable action RPG. The three-part series' first and second installments established on the SEGA Dreamcast and were later published on the Gamecube and Xbox. The concluding episode -- Phantasy Star Online Episode 3: C.A.R.D Revolution -- was a Gamecube exclusive.
SEGA made sure not to depart PC gamers out by releasing Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst, that was essentially an interface of the second and first games in the series. Last, a name found its way to the Nintendo DS titled Phantasy Star Zero that functioned as a vague sequel to the past games in the set.
Two sequels named Phantasy Star Portable 1 and
