You should frankly only play with an ironman (or just not use MTX tbh) - I've maxed my account and have more than million hours into RuneScape yet maybe only spent 30 bucks max to the MTX system and it's not even because it compelled me, I was just lazy and there was a promotion that I wished to see when I might have profited off of. The MTX in RS3 is actually not as predatory as people make it seem, it is definitely too exaggerated, I'm not defending and that I myself would love when they removed it completely or at least altered the core to maybe be more inclined towards makeup but that said, it is definitely something you can live beside if you wish to dismiss it.
