I do not think I could return, although I'm not or something, I tried playing following EoC for a while. The grind is really sped up by Each of of the free xp but in addition, it makes it feel much less satisfying. I obtained 250M+ in money and lucky items from their MTX systems, so they spoiled RuneScape for me personally. I only started playing OSRS with a few buddies and as simple and obsolete as it is, it is even managed to hook up a friend who never played before. Some people have gotten really very good at RuneScape, it is pretty cool to see how different it is 15 decades later. I would recommend trying both, tbh, I'm sure there's still a lot of pleasure to be had in RS3 if you're into more modern MMOs.
You will find more improvements to xp prices. I perform with an iron-man atm. So no MTXs or even free xp out of TH, however, it does seem like that they made an effort for a lot of RuneScape abilities to feel good levelling up. I hated smithing on my first main, but following the rework about the iron-man char, it's now my 2nd highest RuneScape skill (after mining ofc) and it will feel far more entertaining to level up, while also providing nice and usable rewards (since armor and weapons are now on the same level tiers of smithing as is their required attack/def and energy level).
Mining is much better too, as stones don't deplete (instead there's a system that rewards reclicking, but doesn't punish you for not paying attention for a moment ) and you obtain an ore box out of smithing which allows you to buy OSRS gold take 100+ of every ore inside, eliminating a lot of banking downtime. Really makes playing with an iron-man in rs3 like a wonderful relaxing game, especially with how fun RS quests are, as opposed to the grindfest it was.
