North Korea will not stop developing nuclear weapons as long as the US remains hostile toward it, the North Korean ambassador to China said at a press conference in Beijing Tuesday.
The statement was made after a US official commented that the successful Iran nuclear deal could be used as a blueprint for similar talks with North Korea.
Ji Jae-ryong, North Korea's top diplomat to China, said at a press conference in Beijing that North Korea is now a "nuclear weapons state" both in name and reality.
While the ambassador acknowledged that the recent Iran nuclear deal is an achievement, he said that North Korea's situation is different from Iran's, which makes it impossible for the country to follow the same path.
